Getting here

Wolverhampton Grammar School is well served by public bus services from Wolverhampton City Centre, Bridgnorth, Castlecroft, Claverley, Codsall, Oldbury, Perton, Pattingham, Pendeford, Telford, Tettenhall, and Worfield.

The City Centre also has a train station operated by West Midlands Railway serving all mainline routes in and around Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Telford and Shrewsbury.

In addition to excellent public transportation links on offer, the School also operates its own Bus and Coach services (in collaboration with Hills Coaches) offering flexible one way and return journey options covering three counties (Shropshire, Staffordshire and the wider West Midlands).

Buses and coaches are provided every day the School is open to our students (excluding induction days). Parents are asked to ensure that their child is ready at the bus stop ten minutes before the times indicated on the routes below. All School operated transport leaves the School site at the end of the day at 4.15pm for return journeys. The Penkridge coach will stop outside Codsall Community High School on the return journey in the evening, after departing from Codsall Square.

We are proud to be one of the oldest schools in the country but forward-looking in our approach.

Children thrive under our exceptional pastoral care, award-winning leadership and outstanding learning opportunities. Class sizes are deliberately small and classrooms are bright and airy, creating a wonderful learning environment for all.

Ages 11 – 16

Many new students join us in Year 7 and benefit from a full induction ahead of starting. The House system from Year 8 upwards is an extension of our pastoral care and central to school life. Our students consistently perform well in GCSE and A Level examinations and we are extremely proud of them.

Ages 16 – 18

As young adults, our Sixth Formers enjoy studying and socialising in their own Sixth Form Centre, bringing with it greater independence, support from the Sixth Form team and House tutors, the advantages of small teaching groups, and the opportunity to take on leadership and volunteer roles.
