Having the opportunity to present was so rewarding! And I’m SO GRATEFUL! To even think I would learn to sell a car at PORSCHE! I’m so appreciative, no words can describe it. Thank you so much.

Future automotive industry professionals visit Porsche, Wolverhampton
At Wolverhampton Grammar School, the career development of our students and getting them future ready is amongst the key priorities at our school. We take great pride in offering our students bespoke workplace visits and work experience opportunities to provide a real-life insight into job roles and industry sectors.
This year, we teamed up with Porsche, Wolverhampton to give 8 of our students a detailed understanding of careers in sales, marketing, engineering and racing. On Friday 7th March 2025, they attended a workplace visit at this prestigious car dealership.
Upon arrival, our students experienced the well-known and unique Porsche welcome. A warm greeting, smiling staff, a delicious hot drink and a stunning view of luxury vehicles- we were made to feel right at home. The students first made their way to the Porsche boardroom, in which they participated in a careers networking carousel. They had the pleasure of speaking with Mel (Sales Executive), Luke (Vehicle Technician) and Beth (Social Media Manager).
They next had a tour of the Porsche dealership, looking at various cars and learning about the mechanics of the vehicles with the incredibly inspiring Senior Technician, Will. Later, they explored vital sales techniques when considering how these luxury cars are sold.
Full of inspiration and drive, our students took on the sales challenge. Working in teams of 2, they were tasked with selling a car of their choice to a given client. Utilising their newly learnt sales techniques, the students worked hard to understand their client, identify their lifestyle choices, vehicle needs and requirements, before choosing a suitable car and presenting it to their client.
Huge congratulations to Zara, Henry, Tia and Azim who won the title of sales team of the day, and Ryan, Lucy and Lola who produced winning entries for the photo challenge.
A massive well done to all of our students who participated. All showed outstanding professionalism and maximised every opportunity to engage with Porsche throughout the day. They certainly did our WGS community proud!
With utmost gratitude, we thank the staff at Porsche, Wolverhampton for their boundless kindness and abundant generosity extended to our students.
A special thanks to Mel, Sales Executive at Porsche, without whom this trip could not have been possible- a trip in which our students oozed with curiosity, inspiration and sheer happiness for every second of their visit. They’ll remember their workplace visit to Porsche, Wolverhampton for life!
I felt like I worked at Porsche for the day! Getting a hands-on experience in selling a car was amazing.
