Coast 2 Coast 2025 Challenge

170 mile, 24-hour “Coast 2 Coast 2025” Challenge:  St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay

Wolverhampton Grammar School has been hosting its annual Coast 2 Coast challenge for over 25 years. This incredible event sees a team of Year 10 students running a 170-mile relay from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay, completing the journey within 24 hours. This year’s Coast 2 Coast challenge will begin at 7am on Saturday 24th May 2025, with the team aiming to reach Robin Hood’s Bay by 7am on Sunday 25th May 2025.

To prepare for this gruelling challenge, the students undergo 16 weeks of intensive training, supported by staff members throughout the process. Additionally, parents play an essential role by offering support along the route during the challenge.

The team for this year consists of the following students:

Imogen, Fleur, Isaaq, George, Gabrielle, Gurjot, Maisie, Charlotte, Zara, Emmy, Frankie

Alongside the sense of personal achievement gained from completing this remarkable feat, the event also serves as a fundraiser for a charity chosen by the students each year.

For 2025, the team has chosen to raise funds for the Neonatal Unit at New Cross Hospital. The unit cares for approximately 450 premature and critically ill newborns annually. With seven intensive care cots, seven high dependency cots, twelve special care cots, and five family flats, the unit provides life-saving care for babies and crucial support for their families during this critical time.

We invite you to support our Coast 2 Coast 2025 Challenge and thank you in advance for your generous sponsorship. Not only will this challenge provide a sense of personal accomplishment for the students, but it will also help raise vital funds for the Neonatal Unit at New Cross Hospital. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference.

If you would like to support the Coast 2 Coast 2025 challenge you can donate using our secure JustGiving fundraising page.
