School Fees 2022/2023

Fees are set each year to reflect the quality and breadth of opportunities available at Wolverhampton Grammar School. We appreciate that fees represent a significant commitment for families, but we believe it is an investment worth making to experience our unique, independent school. In all instances we try to keep all fees and costs to a minimum.

  • Junior School fees (Reception)

    Fees are £2,563 per term. Fees cover a full day (8.00am – 5.30pm), morning break snack, most compulsory curricular school trips, and personal accident insurance. Students in Reception can participate in extra-curricular clubs including sport, music, photography, board games, carton drawing and lego club. These are all included in our school fees except for LAMDA which is payable directly to our club provider. Year-round swimming lessons at Wolverhampton Swimming & Fitness Centre are also covered.

    Childcare vouchers are accepted as payment for Reception fees up to the first term following a child’s 5th birthday and for some chargeable out of school hours clubs and activities.

    All children are eligible for 15 hours free childcare up to the first term following a child’s 5th birthday. The fee with 15 hours free childcare is £1,709 per term.

    In the Junior School, School lunches are compulsory and will be added to the termly fee at a charge of £195 per term.

    Additional costs may include an optional fees refund scheme, daily travel, Breakfast and Late Club charges, and other non-curricular trips and visits.

  • Junior School fees (Years 1 & 2)

    Fees are £3,070 per term. Fees cover a full day (8.00am – 5.30pm), morning break snack, most compulsory curricular school trips, and personal accident insurance.

    Students in Year 1 & 2 can participate in extra-curricular clubs including sport, music, photography, board games, carton drawing and lego club. These are all included in our school fees except for LAMDA which is payable directly to our club provider. Year-round swimming lessons at Wolverhampton Swimming & Fitness Centre are also covered.

    In the Junior School, School lunches are compulsory and will be added to the termly fee at a charge of £195 per term.

  • Junior School fees (Years 3-6)

    Fees are £3,724 per term. Fees cover a full day (8.00am – 5.30pm), morning break snack, most compulsory curricular school trips, the Year 6 residential trip to Arthog, swimming lessons on a rotational basis at Wolverhampton Swimming & Fitness Centre and personal accident insurance.

    At lunchtime and after school students in Years 3 to 6 can participate in extra-curricular clubs such as art, cricket, dance, ukulele, yoga and scrabble. These are all included in our school fees except for LAMDA which is payable directly to our club provider.

    In the Junior School, School lunches are compulsory and will be added to the termly fee at a charge of £215 per term.

    Additional costs may include an optional fees refund scheme, daily travel, music tuition, instrument hire, Breakfast and Late Club charges, residential trips in Years 3, 4 and 5 and other non-curricular trips and visits. 

    All Year 3 students are required to purchase an iPad and case (with insurance and extended warranty) via our School suppliers. The basic cost will be approximately £500 and the cost will be spread equally over the first and second term’s fees.

  • Senior School and Sixth Form fees

    Fees are £4,905 per term. Fees cover a full day (7.30am – 5.30pm) including over 100 different extra-curricular clubs. Most compulsory curricular school trips and personal accident insurance are included.

    School lunches are optional, the cost per term is £235 and will be added to your fee invoice unless you opt out.

    Additional costs may include an optional fees refund scheme, daily travel, music tuition, instrument hire, public exam fees at GCSE and A Level and non-curricular trips and visits. A list of optional trips is published on the school website.

    All Year 7 students are required to purchase an iPad Bundle (latest iPad model, insurance-grade iPad case, Apple pencil and 3 years’ insurance and extended warranty). This will be purchased by School through our Apple Partner at a reduced educational discount rate. The cost to parents will be spread across the first and second terms’ invoices.

    School fees are due on or before the first day of term. Please contact Stuart Cohen, Finance Manager if you would like to spread the cost over monthly or bi-monthly Direct Debit instalments, or have any other finance related queries.
