An epic visit from Author and Illustrator Sarah Bowie
Pupils in Years 4–6 were treated to an epic afternoon when author and illustrator Sarah Bowie visited Wolverhampton Grammar School to introduce the third book in her much-loved Nina Peanut graphic novel series; Nina Peanut: Epic World Tour Era.
During the event, Sarah shared her top tips for writing success and spoke about her journey as both a writer and illustrator. The excitement didn’t stop there, pupils were invited to take part in a series of speed drawing challenges, where they tried their hand at recreating some of Sarah’s quirky and loveable characters, including Les the stinky cat.
The session ended with a very special cover reveal of Sarah’s next Nina Peanut book, set to be published next year. The children left feeling inspired and full of ideas for their own comic creations and many took home a signed copy of one of Sarah’s books as a lasting memento of the day.
A huge thank you to Sarah Bowie for such an inspiring and creative visit, and to Authors Aloud UK and Scholastic Books for partnering with us to make this wonderful afternoon possible.
This event showcases Wolverhampton Grammar School’s commitment to nurturing a love of reading by providing children with access to books and enabling them to meet inspirational authors.
