Year 7 student, Ruben Johal and his family were amongst a team of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to get the Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara reopened for individual prayers.
The Gurdwara is an important building to our Sikh community and, thanks to their hard work, it is ready once again to welcome back worshippers. Ruben’s mum and dad, Mr and Mrs Johal are founders of the Sikh Toy Appeal who support people of all faiths who are in need.
Ruben is just one of a number of students who have been volunteering and supporting our local community over the past few months. Well done Ruben – we are all very proud of you.
The work to get the Gurdwara back open was featured on BBC Midlands Today and in the Express & Star. You can read the full story here: https://www.expressandstar.com/news/health/coronavirus-covid19/2020/06/16/volunteers-work-hard-to-get-wolverhampton-gurdwara-ready/
