Wolverhampton Grammar School surpasses national standards following Inspection

School inspectors have yet again awarded the highest outcome possible to Wolverhampton Grammar School during a recent inspection. They found Wolverhampton Grammar School to be fully compliant with all statutory regulations and requirements with no recommendations for further improvement.

The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspected compliance with a number of areas from the quality of education provided; the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils; health and safety; suitability of staff; the provision of information; manner in which complaints are handled and the quality of leadership and management of the School. The School was recently inspected by the ISI as part of their programme of regular inspections required by the Department for Education.

The ISI’s work included lengthy preparation examining regulatory information provided by the school; a formal inspection in school; surveys with parents, staff and students; as well as interviews with staff, Directors and students.

Kathy Crewe-Read, Head of Wolverhampton Grammar School commented

“Whilst the Inspectors findings focuses on compliance with school standards, the Inspectors observed Wolverhampton Grammar School with its staff and students, on normal working days. It was therefore a pleasure to hear from Inspectors during their feedback of their experience of great teaching and motivated and charming young people.”

James Sage, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Wolverhampton Grammar School added

“We are delighted that the continued hard work of the Head, senior management team and all of our staff has been independently inspected and once again shown to be at the highest level. The high response rate received from staff, parents and pupils following the inspector’s surveys completed as part of the inspection was exceptional, not only in terms of the numbers who took the time to complete the surveys but also the overwhelming number of positive comments received etc.”

Although there were no recommendations made by Inspectors, Wolverhampton Grammar School remains committed to offering all students the best education and highest standards possible. Wolverhampton Grammar School provides an outstanding education for children attending the Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form. Constantly achieving outstanding GCSE and A Level results, providing the largest range of extra-curricular activities of any independent school in the area, and continuing to be the independent school of choice for parents of children from across the Wolverhampton, Shropshire, Staffordshire and wider West Midlands.
