Science, Storytelling & Saving Planet Earth with Lucy Hawking

On Tuesday 10th May we were very excited to welcome bestselling children’s author and science educator, Lucy Hawking, to our Junior School. We welcomed over 60 students from St Bartholomew’s Primary School, Penn Fields School and Caldmore Primary Academy to join our Years 3, 4 & 5 for an afternoon of science, storytelling and saving planet Earth. Lucy shared her passion for science, inspired by her late father Stephen Hawking, with the children and enlightened them on contemporary scientific topics such as climate change and extreme weather.

Lucy is a passionate author of children’s fantasy adventure books, in which Science is a character in every mystery. The students were lucky to be given a sneak-peak into Lucy’s latest climate-conscious bestselling book series ‘Princess Olivia Investigates: The Wrong Weather’, and had the opportunity to get their own copies signed!

The afternoon ended with a Q&A session during which Lucy offered the students advice on how to work smart, hard and together to keep the Earth a happy place.
