School donates over 230 safety glasses and goggles to NHS workers

Former student, Dr Kapil Vij reached out to his former school this week to request donations of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Working on the frontline, Dr Vij co-ordinated the search for PPE on behalf of New Cross Hospital A&E and GP practices across the city.

As a small number of staff are at School to look after children of key workers, Wolverhampton Grammar School was happy to donate all its stock of safety glasses and goggles from our Biology, Chemistry and Physics labs.

A total of 233 pairs were safely collected by Dr Vij and delivered to A&E and the Acute Medical Unit at New Cross Hospital, where the staff were overwhelmed by the donation. The remaining goggles were donated to local GP practices.
