Knight Sir Louis’ latest quest brings him to WGS

Today we were delighted to welcome The Brothers McLeod to our Junior School to hear all about their comedic Knight Sir Louis book series. The five-time BAFTA nominated sibling duo are made up of illustrator Greg McLeod and writer Myles McLeod, who have been working together since 1999, and over this time have built up a very impressive résumé in TV and film.

Students in Years 5 and 6 were joined by twelve students from Penn Fields School in Wolverhampton for an afternoon of adventures and lots of laughter.

The event began with a warm welcome from WGS Head Librarian, Mrs Rowley, before the brothers proceeded to share chapters from their Knight Sir Louis books. Myles enthusiastically read and acted out snippets of the terrific tale whilst Greg drew along as the story unfolded. The brothers then advised their excited audience on how to develop a fictional protagonist, before teaching them how to draw Knight Sir Louis himself.

The afternoon ended with a fun Q&A session during which the students got to ask the brothers some intriguing questions, including how they got into the industry and who inspires their work. Students then had the wonderful opportunity to take away a signed copy of a Knight Sir Louis book.

Many thanks to Authors Aloud UK and the WGS Jenyns Library for making this fabulous event happen.
