Jeff Kinney on the Big Shot drive-thru tour

Jeff Kinney to launch latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book at Wolverhampton Grammar School

In collaboration with AuthorsAloudUK and Penguin Random House Children’s, Jeff Kinney, children’s author of the acclaimed series of Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, is coming to Wolverhampton Grammar School as part of the UK release of his latest book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot. In 2007, Jeff published his first Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, introducing readers to Greg Heffley and his family, his best friend Rowley Jefferson, and the dreaded Cheese Touch. More than 250 million copies later, Diary of a Wimpy Kid has become a beloved book all around the world.

Jeff will be visiting Wolverhampton Grammar School on Wednesday 17th November 2021 from 6-8pm to offer families a fantastic Diary of a Wimpy Kid Drive-Thru experience, as part of the UK leg of his global tour. From the comfort and safety of their own vehicle, families will drive through the sports-themed experience before reaching the finish line where Jeff will personally deliver children their signed copies of Big Shot, as well as the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the international best-selling writer and illustrator.

As part of Wolverhampton Grammar School’s library outreach work to encourage a love of reading for pleasure, schools across Wolverhampton will be given an opportunity to take part virtually in an interactive event with Jeff on the morning of Thursday 18th November. Hundreds of children from across the City will listen to Jeff read an extract from his latest book, Big Shot, before taking part in a live draw-along. Following this, Jeff will be answering children’s questions before personally signing copies of his books.

Zoe Rowley, Head Librarian at Wolverhampton Grammar School commented: “We’re extremely delighted to celebrate the release of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot with Jeff Kinney at our School. As part of the launch, we’re incredibly fortunate to be able to offer our students and local schools across the City the opportunity to join a virtual draw-along and presentation session.”
