Students from the national award winning School – judged “Excellent” in all areas by school inspectors, are celebrating another exceptional year of top GCSE results.
Congratulations to all our Year 11 students who have performed extremely well, despite a further year of disruption to their studies and school life. The numbers in brief:
- 83 Students studied towards an impressive 837 GCSE and IGCSE awards
- 641 Grade 9, 8 or 7 awards (equivalent to A* and A) – 79% of all grades
- 261 coveted Grade 9s awarded – 31% of all grades
- 99% of students achieved exclusively A* – C grades
Alex Frazer, Head of Wolverhampton Grammar School said “I have been so impressed by the resolve and hard work of all our Year 11 students. Their results are testament to their individual determination, supported and enabled by what works best in education: expert teaching and top quality pastoral care, smaller class sizes, a longer school day and the confidence gained through participation in extra-curricular activities.”
For those students who were awarded nothing but exceptional grade 9s, their success is truly outstanding given the challenging 18 months they’ve had.
Students from other schools receiving GCSE results this week may be interested in joining Wolverhampton Grammar School’s Sixth Form. Earlier this week, Sixth Form students walked away with stellar A Level results, with two thirds of all students awarded straight A* or A awards.
