Friday 7th September 2018
“Another good day on the golf course (is there any other) for the Old Wulfs Sports Festival 2018. We received a warm welcome as always from South Staffordshire Golf Club and the weather held up despite some dark looking clouds.
A warm welcome to some new faces, notably former members of staff Gerry Holden and Kevin Riley, partnered with fellow former staff member Tony Page. Their golf was as flamboyant as their attire, though they sadly all came up a little short of winning.
As always all enjoyed a relaxed, fun and friendly day of golf. Tim Browning’s accuracy on the par 3s defied his handicap as he took home a couple of the prizes and Will Nield’s monstrous drive saw him take the longest drive, by a fair distance. Well done to Will Nield whose obvious length off the tee and overall game saw him take the trophy this year by one point from Richard Harris and by two from Tim Browning and Mike Hughes.
Our thanks to our hosts at South Staffordshire Golf Club and to all who played. We look forward to seeing you all next year and to welcoming some new faces. Next year’s date for your diary is Friday 13th September 2019.
Have a great year, keep well and hope to see you all in the new year.
Jim Mills (OW 1987)”
