Chris Smith

Frankie Best Hates Quests Author to visit the Junior School

In partnership with Authors Aloud UK, our next author visit promises to continue our work to inspire reading for pleasure across the Junior School. Chris Smith will be visiting the Junior School Hall on the afternoon of Wednesday 25th May to deliver a presentation to children from Years 4, 5 and 6. As this event forms part of our library’s outreach work, Year 7 students from local state schools will also be joining us.

Chris has worked for many years as a newsreader and presenter on BBC Radio 1, which is where he met Greg James. Chris and Greg are well-known for creating the bestselling Kid Normal books.

This event will mark the launch of Chris’ latest fantastically funny new book, Frankie Best Hates Quests. In the book, Frankie’s Grandad gets Kidnapped by gnoblins forcing Frankie to embark on a rescue mission across a magical realm filled with strange creatures, dangerous enemies and, worst of all, absolutely no WiFi. Frankie did have big plans to watch YouTube and eat pot noodles that weekend but it looks like she’ll just have to go on an epic mega-dangerous quest instead . . .

We look forward to welcoming Chris into School and anticipate an entertaining afternoon for all involved.
