A team of students are in training to complete the School’s annual Coast 2 Coast challenge.
The epic 187 miles from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay in the north of England is completed in just 24 hours every year by a team of intrepid Year 10 students in aid of a charity chosen by the students themselves.
This year’s Coast 2 Coast challenge will start at 7am on Saturday 23rd May from St Bees, with the aim of arriving in Robin Hood’s Bay by 7am on Sunday 24th May 2020.
In preparation for their challenge, the students undertake 16 weeks of extreme training to prepare them. Members of staff support the students during their training and the challenge itself. Parents also support the students from along the route.
This year’s team is made up as follows: Ewen Alexander, Jenny Chan, Harry Davies, Ella Grew, Edward Hamill, Grace Jones, Rose Thacker, Benjamin Thomas, Thomas Watson and Harry Williams.
For 2020, the students have decided to fundraise for Brain Tumour Support which provides support for anyone affected by any type of brain tumour, at any point from diagnosis and for as long as support is needed.
