Already accepted a place at Wolverhampton Grammar School for September?
If you have already accepted an offer of a place for September, our Admissions team will have already been in touch and you can contact us at any time if you, or your child has any questions. You might also find the answer to your question here:
How can I order my child’s iPad and book an iPad induction?
Information (including how to purchase your School iPad) will be sent to you shortly. Why not take this opportunity to book your place at one of our iPad induction sessions in August. Simply visit our website www.wgs.org.uk/ipadinduction and click on the date most convenient for you. Parents and children really enjoy those sessions as you not only receive your pre-ordered iPad, but also get to learn about how you can make the most of digital technology as a family.
What day is the first day of term in September?
Year 7 and Year 12 (Lower Sixth) students will join us on Wednesday 2nd September.
Junior School students and all other year groups start School on Thursday 3rd September.
Will my child have an induction before starting?
Yes, the Admissions team will be in touch with you about your child’s first day at School and your iPad induction (for Years 7, 8 and 9).
My child knows another child who is joining. Can they be in the same form?
We do our very best to keep friendship groups together. A member of the Admissions team will be contacting all parents of our new starters over the coming weeks and this is one of the questions they will be asking you.
What information will I receive as a parent prior to starting?
We will be sending you all the information you need over the coming weeks. Everything from uniform and sports kit requirements, bus routes, travel and lunch passes to what a typical day is like, how much homework to expect to what extra-curricular clubs are on offer.
Will I have the opportunity to “meet” with other parents before my child starts School in September?
Yes. If current restrictions remain in place we are arranging for all new parents to have “virtual” opportunities to meet with key staff and fellow parents – should you want to.
Yes, you can take a virtual tour of our School, simply click here. As soon as Government restrictions are lifted and our School site is open again to visitors, we will contact you.
How is the School currently delivering home learning?
Wolverhampton Grammar School’s use of technology across every aspect of School life has enabled us to deliver lessons, as well as ongoing support, communications and extra curricular activities to parents and all students via the School’s digital portal (Firefly). You can learn more about how we do this here.
