MIDAS Driver Assessor
Tony is responsible for a team of 24 staff; including 6 Site Supervisors; Housekeeping Supervisor, 15 Housekeepers and 2 Groundsmen and an Estates Administrator. The purpose of this role is to lead the implementation of an estates strategy and to manage all aspects of the School’s properties including upkeep, care, maintenance, security, health and safety and facilities management in line with statutory and regulatory requirements. Tony is also responsible for refurbishment projects and other building advancements in terms of bidding, developing and procurement.
Tony takes part in the annual Coast to Coast weekend. In conjunction with this he helps support students in their training. Tony also takes part where possible in the annual School Memorial mile.
During Tony’s wide ranging career, he first started out at 16 years of age as a Junior Soldier. When leaving the Forces 2009 after 24 years of service, gaining the rank of Non-Commissioned Officer. During this period he undertook increasing responsibilities in management and engineering skills. Some of the more exciting roles have been – working a specialist Dog handler for 4 years, adventure training instructor, TA instructor and whist working in Bosnia – working a Civil Military Liaison.
This role gave Tony the ability to design and run projects alongside Foreign Organisations (UNHCR) to provide businesses and infrastructure worth excess £280,000 into local communities for returning refugees.
Tony has worked in management for several years, including 7 years prior to Wolverhampton Grammar school as the Deputy Estates Manager at Telford College of Arts and Technology.
Tony enjoys competing in Triathlon and Ironman events.
