Our Sports Department believe in the ethos of Sport for all. All students are given the opportunity to achieve his/her potential regardless of ability or previous experience. Sport is offered at all ages right through to Sixth Form where Physical Education remains a popular A Level choice.
Extra-curricular sport thrives at school with each year group offered the opportunity for competitive sports. All age groups regularly compete against local schools as well as an extensive network of independent schools throughout the region and country.
This busy programme of competition has led to a successful track record for school sport over the years, a tradition which continues to the present day. A number of teams and individuals having experienced success at local, county, regional and national level.
Wolverhampton Grammar School’s purpose built Sports Centre is an impressive building that incorporates a large indoor playing area suitable for a wide array of activities. In addition, four squash courts, a multi-gym and a bespoke climbing wall provide a unique experience for our students wishing to look beyond the more traditional sports.
