How to register for a place

The two years which make up the Sixth Form are for some, the most challenging of all the years in secondary education. Parents and students alike appreciate the importance of the right learning and support environment as well as the right academic experience and expertise of teachers.

That’s why many students take the opportunity to join Wolverhampton Grammar School for those crucial Sixth Form years.

To secure a place in Sixth Form a student should expect to meet the following minimum entry requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 Bs at GCSE, with at least grade C or 5 in Maths and English Language.
  • Candidates must achieve B (or 6) or better in any subject (or supporting subject) they wish to study at Sixth Form.

Return the Sixth Form Registration form, indicating predicted grades (or actual grades if known) to our Admissions Registrar. Registration Forms can also be sent direct to your home address. You should also include a letter to support your application, outlining:

  • Why you want to study at Wolverhampton Grammar School Sixth Form.
  • Which subjects you wish to choose and why.
  • What extra-curricular interests you have.
  • What you might hope to do in the future.
  • You should also include your last two School reports.

All candidates will also be interviewed by a member of the Sixth Form tutor team and we will request a reference from your current school.

A registration fee of £25 is required with each application when you return your Registration Form (please note this is non-refundable). Please send the registration fee with your form and letter as we are unable to register your application until the registration fee is received.
