Jim Wilkinson 1977 – 1984

Jim Wilkinson was a student at Wolverhampton Grammar School between 1977 and 1984.

After leaving School, Jim went on to Salford University to study Economics.

What influenced your parents to send you to the Grammar?
I am afraid that the story is very simple. I passed the 11 Plus and was given the opportunity to go to the Grammar School. Since the school was the best in the area I did not hesitate to attend.

What was it like? Are you still in touch with people now and how has the experience helped shape you as a person?
My school years were fantastic and a great opportunity. I made many friends who I am still in touch with and I received a great base from which to build my career.

What have you been doing since leaving the School?
Salford University 1984-1987

Touche Ross London 1987-1994

Informa PLC 1994 – 2004

What advice would you give to a current student/someone about to leave the School?
