It’s been revealed that Wolverhampton Grammar School has been shortlisted for the Employer of the Year and Deputy Head, Nic Anderson has also been shortlisted for the Maths Teacher of the Year award by the Times Educational Supplement.
Tes editor Ann Mroz said: “It is wonderful to see such innovative ideas and best-practice emerging from our schools and teachers, despite the current squeeze on funding. We had a record year for entries and the standard was the best so far – all those shortlisted should be very proud: it’s an extraordinary achievement.”
It’s been a year of national accolades for Wolverhampton Grammar School. The School won ‘Senior leadership team of the year’ at the prestigious Tes Independent School Awards 2018 in February and was judged “Excellent” in all areas by the Independent Schools Inspectorate last year.
Kathy Crewe-Read, Head of Wolverhampton Grammar School comments “The work of a great School has again been recognised by Tes. To win a category in the Tes Independent School Awards in February was exceptional, but to be shortlisted again as both an employer and for having one of the most dedicated Maths teachers in the country for an award open to state and independent schools is an incredible achievement and testament to the hard work and commitment yet again of every member of our community. We are all incredibly proud of Nic Anderson and our School.”
Philip Sims, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Wolverhampton Grammar School added “Wolverhampton Grammar School demonstrates yet again why it was judged “excellent” in all categories of the School’s activities by the Independent Schools Inspectorate last year. There is no bigger accolade than the Times Educational Supplement awards and to be recognised not only as the best of independent schools, but across all schools this year is again testament to the way Kathy Crewe-Read and her team of superb staff provide the very best education to our students.”
The winners will be revealed at our gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 22 June 2018. To see the full list of who’s in the running, pick up a copy of this week’s Tes, or visit tesawards.co.uk
