Introduction to the Economics and Business Studies Department

The Department of Economics and Business Studies at Wolverhampton Grammar School prepares and inspires students to work towards and complete A Levels in Business Studies and Economics.

The discipline of Business Studies impacts society every day, relating to almost all aspects of our life and is a useful discipline for entrance to courses at university including Politics, Philosophy, Sociology, Law, History, Marketing and, of course, Business.

Students are encouraged to take part in a range of discipline specific masterclasses and guest lectures (in addition to their lesson time).

The department also offers the opportunity to study towards the Certificate in Financial Studies (for Lower Sixth students), the IFS student Investor Challenge as well as a number of extra-curricular activities including the Economics Debating Society and Dragons’ Den.
