Our Friends work with the school to arrange fundraising and social events.
Not all parents have the opportunity to meet each other either in the playground or at the school gates. The Friends offer another way for parents to meet each other and become involved in school activities.
The Friends events involve you in the school by giving you the opportunity to socialise with parents and staff outside of the normal school situation. They also raise vital funds for specific, student led projects. Previous fundraising activities have helped support gym equipment, a new mini bus, theatre seating and even a boulder wall.
By being a part of the school as a parent or guardian of a child, you are already a member of The Friends of Wolverhampton Grammar School and will receive details of any events they have planned throughout the year.
Yes, there are lots of ways that you can get involved and offer to help without becoming a committee member. If you would like someone to contact you with details of how you can get more involved simply leave your details at school reception and a parent from the steering group will contact you.
You would need to come to the termly meetings where possible. At the meetings Friends plan events. The jobs you can volunteer to do are wide ranging and varied, they can include for example collecting tickets, serving guests at an event or simply helping to sell raffle tickets etc.
