As a maths tutor, Peter says “giving students confidence that they ‘can do’ Maths – so many feel or get told otherwise” is one of his personal teaching priorities.
Peter has an active role in the delivery of sport across the school, in particular football, cricket especially and running teams.
Following spells in three comprehensive schools in the early part of his career, Peter has enjoyed “30 wonderful years” at WGS.
He has undertaken a variety of roles progressing from Head of House, to Head of Lower School (which he did for 14 very happy years) then Head of Middle School and then in the last 8 years as Deputy Head and most recently 2 years teaching at the ‘ chalk face’.
“The feeling that staff and students are working together for the common good. Also the desire for former students to come back and see us to once again they readily enter through the gates of the school.
The Sports Festival and Captains XI cricket are particular highlights for me when the community past and present come together.”
“My Christian Faith defines who I am. Our two children were educated at WGS and we are so proud of how well they did. They developed so much as people and achieved a great deal academically WGS gave them so much. I was an avid sport player in younger years and now supporter/follower, especially cricket, football, rugby and hockey.”
