Penny is responsible for the financial and estate management of the School and for compliance and HR matters. Penny also acts as Clerk and Company Secretary for the Trustees and Board of Directors.
Penny trained as a chartered accountant with KPMG before moving on to work within the Independent School Sector. She previously held the role of Bursar at The King’s School in Chester for 8 years prior to taking up the post at Wolverhampton Grammar School in September 2014. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Independent Schools’ Bursars Association and a trained compliance inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate. She enjoys being involved in all aspects of School life and particularly enjoys working on personal development expeditions for students. Penny’s next expedition with a group of WGS students will be to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands in 2017. Penny took a group of WGS students to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands in 2017 and is currently planning an expedition to India in 2018.
Penny takes a keen interest in the running of school trips offering assistance in the setting up and risk assessment of these.

Penny lives with her family in Staffordshire. She enjoys the outdoor life particularly where there is a challenge involved and is currently planning to trek to Everest base camp this Easter and is learning to sail. She is also the volunteer accountant for a charity which raises money to support the victims of child trafficking in Nepal and has previously trekked to Everest Base Camp, completed the Annapurna circuit, climbed Kilimanjaro and is currently learning to sail.
