Nic Anderson, Deputy Head (Academic)

As Deputy Head, Nic is responsible for all areas of the curriculum including student options, timetables and staffing.

Nic oversees the work of all the academic Heads of Department. He also has the overall pastoral responsibility for Years 7 to 9, including transition from Year 6.

Nic manages and organises the boys’ first XI hockey team (he’s had this role for over 20 years). He also enjoys training with the Year 10 Coast-to-Coast team in preparation for their run in May half-term.

Nic also teaches mathematics to all levels of the senior school from Year 8 to Upper Sixth further mathematics.

Nic also enjoys his role as an EPQ tutor and supervisor.

Nic attended Wolverhampton Grammar School as a student in the 1980’s, returning as a Maths and hockey teacher in 1997.

After leading several key responsibilities on behalf of the school (including school timetabling between 2000-2004), Nic was appointed Head of Lower School in 2005, becoming Deputy Head in 2009.

Nic is now in his 28th year as a member of Wolverhampton Grammar School. His daughter is also a student in the Senior school.

Nic also enjoys playing and watching sport, especially cricket (in addition to his beloved hockey).

Nic is an active member of the Old Wulfrunians Association.
