As Head of Department Andy is responsible for the production of schemes of work, ensuring that high academic standards are expected and the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained, developing and evaluating teaching approaches, organising and managing the department budget and resources to ensure the efficient and effective use of all resources, ensuring that assessment of students’ work within the department is regular, thorough, and follows the departmental marking policy, preparing for assessment and/or examinations (internal and external) and liaising with staff responsible for their organisation, monitoring students’ learning and keeping appropriate records of effort and assessment data as well as encouraging and supporting the use of technology and a variety of resources in lessons.
Organic Chemistry is Andy’s specialist area.
Andy has participated on the school ski trip for 24 years and has been trip leader for the last five years.
Andy has also been the Year 7 football coach for the past nine years having previously coached the 2nd XI and Year 9 teams.
Andy’s teaching career has included posts at Brownhills High School, Lanfranc High School Croydon and Leicester Grammar School. Andy has worked at Wolverhampton Grammar School since 1994.

Andy lives in Brewood with his family. He is a fan of most sports and particularly enjoys playing cricket for Brewood CC and supporting Aston Vila. For many years he played football for Old Wulfunians FC. He also enjoys windsurfing, skiing, cycling, golf and pilates.
